St. Monica’s is a well-established, larger church about a kilometer from the main highway. It’s property consists of a large block sanctuary and several smaller buildings on a large compound. The pastor was been extremely excited about working with CARE for AIDS, demonstrating support by starting to recruit clients before the official partnership began. They had a program running already, taking care of 15 clients in a small scale.
The partnership with St. Monica was officially agreed upon in April 2011. Ruth and Denis were hired and trained during the month of May, and the center recruitment began by the end of May 2011.

Located in Nyamasaria
This area is located on the Eastern side of the main Nairobi - Kisumu highway. It holds a concentration of people in village-like settings along the highway and a gradual shift into more rural areas further to the East.

Center Health Counselor: Ruth Akoth Agutu
Ruth is a widowed grandmother of 49 years. She has seven children and three grandchildren.

Center Spiritual Counselor: Denis Omondi Kibira
Denis is married and has a three-year old boy. He previously worked as a youth pastor at the church and as security guard before working with CFA.
