Dan and Lilian were hired on June 20th and they started their training right after. Even before the training was over they had more than 80 clients who wanted to join the program. They were forced to chose the most desperate and needy clients to start with the first phase. They began work officially in July 2011.

Nubian Estate holds one of the biggest open-air markets in the world. Three slums border Nubian, one being the largest in Kisumu. Kisumu also provides less economic opportunity than the Nairobi area and holds a higher rate of opportunistic diseases such as malaria and tuberculosis. The community also holds the highest percentage of Muslims in Kisumu.

Center Health Counselor: Lilian Lukania
Lilian Lukania has been walking with Jesus since a young age too. She grew up in a Christian household with three brothers and four sisters. Lilian is married and has one son. She has a background in peer counseling, pregnant mothers counseling and various capacities of counseling within the church. Before CFA, she was working with another company as a secretary. Lilian has an amazing heart for those living with HIV because she herself is living with HIV. She was diagnosed in 2007, but has been able to live healthy through the help of her family and friends.

Center Spiritual Counselor: Dan Otieno
Dan Nyamondo is unmarried and comes from a strong Christian family where his father was a pastor. He has two sisters and three brothers. Dan has been a member at Full Gospel Church of Kenya for over two years. Dan became a follower of Jesus back in 1999 at a youth convention and has been involved with the church in various ways of working with the children, serving as the youth chairman and preaching the Word.
